Mountain Trails Gallery Sedona is proud to be a part of Western Art Collector's June feature Women Artists Blazing New Trails which takes a look at the subject beginning with the magazine's history from the iconic Georgia O'Keeffe to the current growing coverage of eminent women artists in publications and exhibitions. Notable in their reporting is Mountain Trails Gallery Sedona's painter Sue Krzyston and sculptor Deborah Copenhaver Fellows who appeared in Western Art Collector's very first issue of the magazine as artists who exemplify "exceptional work."
The magazine's Collector's Focus section also highlights exceptional work by Sedona sculptor Susan Kliewer, Utah contemporary painter Michelle Condrat, and Sedona plein air painter Lydia Gatzow. In addition, Julie R. Williams, director of Mountain Trails Gallery Sedona, is a part of the article as she speaks about the scope of the gallery's June exhibition Women of the West with 20 of their outstanding artists taking the lead, "Women artists have been historic participants in creative expression with a growing prominence in the profession, and we are proud to shine a light on a group of these inspiring artists who all have their heartfelt stories to tell. It is my joy to share the rich background of these women with collectors who are intrigued with the work, but might not know about their fascinating life experiences or their awards and exhibitions."
Women of the West opens with a reception on 1st Friday, June 7th, 4-7pm at Mountain Trails Gallery Sedona located in Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village.
