Mountain Trails Gallery Sedona is proud to celebrate a new accolade awarded to longtime gallery artist Dustin Payne for his unique bronze wall relief What Man Can Conceive. In addition to his numerous Cowboy Artists of America awards including a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal for Sculpture, Dustin Payne has earned his place in the Briscoe Museum by winning this year's Museum Purchase Award at the Night of Artists event for his tribute to the wondrous creation of Mount Rushmore's portrait of Abraham Lincoln and the artistic vision and engineering ingenuity of Danish-American sculptor Gutzon Borglum. Dustin focuses on a moment in time as the intrepid Borglum is completing the face of Abraham Lincoln.
"Winning this year’s Briscoe Museum Purchase Award at the Night of Artists with What Man Can Conceive was a great honor. I’m grateful for everyone involved.... I sure appreciate everyone’s support for this piece. It was an idea I had been sitting on for years and finally felt like I should finish it, not knowing how it would be received. It’s a privilege to me that this one has found a home in the Briscoe’s permanent collection."
Capturing the distinction of such a creative bronze by the artist's followers, 'Wonderful, innovative, and imaginative work...', 'The breathtaking result of thinking outside the box!'.
