Born and raised in Bavaria, Germany, Ans Carnes graduated from the FOS Art School, Wuerzburg, Germany, with a background in freelance illustration and media design.  After moving to the US in 2010, the focus has been on a fine art oil painting career.  Since finding a high-altitude mountain top studio near Prescott, Arizona, Ans Carnes has been a juried artist in various exhibitions over the years including the Arizona Fine Art Expo, the Phippen Museum Art Show and Live Quick Draw, Wigwam Resort Art Show, and the Hidden in The Hills Art Show.  In January 2024, Ans earned the Viewer’s Choice Award at the Phoenix Zoo’s Wild Side Gallery juried show.
